The Office of the Secretary of State follows the Administrative Code of the State of Nebraska. The Office is responsible for making available to the public all of our documentation and certifications of public policies and regulations. Under Section IV of the Nebraska Constitution, the office of Secretary of State is openly elected, with elections held every four years. Elections are held in November and civil servants take office in January. There are no performance barriers.

Additional Responsibilities
